The Silicon Optix Reon-VX HQVT video processing chip inside the PR-SC5508 provides cutting-edge video scaling and deinterlacing capabilities – including digital upconversion of all your video sources to an HDMI signal with up to 1080p resolution.
Eight HDMI inputs accommodate 3D video, and two HDMI outputs let you feed two different high-resolution displays simultaneously.
ISF (Imaging Science Foundation) video calibration gives you sharp focus and accurate color balance from all of your video sources. An ISF-certified technician can adjust the brightness, hue, contrast, saturation, and gamma levels on all video inputs, to ensure a consistently excellent picture. ISF calibration can also improve energy savings in TVs and projectors by up to 50 percent.
Digital music options
A modern preamp/processor wouldn’t be complete without A/V networking capabilities, and the PR-SC5508 has an impressive suite of digital music options. Browse your PC-based music collection, explore Internet radio, or access your favorite online music service. Rhapsody™, Pandora®, Napster®, Mediafly™, and Slacker are all here. Connect your iPod® or iPhone® through the receiver’s front USB port. You’ll get control, charging and even album art using USB alone (video requires the optional UP-A1 dock).
